Launch of the First Apple iPhone
On January 9, 2007, Apple CEO Steve Jobs unveiled the first Apple iPhone during a keynote address at the Macworld Conference & Expo. The device combined a mobile phone, iPod, and internet communication device, setting a new standard for smartphones. It featured a 3.5-inch touchscreen, a 2MP camera, and ran on iPhone OS, later known as iOS. The Apple iPhone was released on June 29, 2007, and quickly became a cultural phenomenon, selling over 6 million units in its first year.
